Terms of Service
These terms cover use of the MacStartup website and the meaning of a request submitted through it. They are not a certification, and they do not set prices or cancellation rules that have not been agreed individually.
Version date: October 15, 2026.
Website purpose
The website at https://macstartup.com explains MacStartup’s Mac cleanup education and file organization training and provides a form for requesting a review. The teaching concerns personal and business files, folders, documents, photographs, and the storage those user files occupy. You organize your own files. MacStartup does not organize files on your device. MacStartup is not a downloadable cleaning application, not a hardware repair shop, and not an authorized Apple service provider.
Service descriptions
Pages describe training that can be discussed: how to group files, how to choose folder names, and how to review copies you identify. They are not a promise that every request will be accepted, that MacStartup will delete files, or that a Mac will become faster. Learning file organization does not guarantee computer performance. The site does not encourage deleting system files. MacStartup does not perform that organization on your Mac.
Information accuracy
Articles and service pages are written to be accurate at the version date above. Storage screens and folder tools change between macOS releases. Do not treat the site as a substitute for Apple’s current documentation for a specific macOS version.
Submitting a request
The contact form asks for your name, email address, a consultation topic, what you want to learn, and agreement to the Privacy Policy. File type, approximate collection size, and preferred contact method are optional. You agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and to omit passwords, Apple ID credentials, payment card details, remote access credentials, and copies of sensitive documents.
Request review
After a valid submission is accepted by the server mail function, the request can be read and answered. Review is not instant and is not an automated diagnosis. Response times may vary, and no specific response time is guaranteed.
No automatic booking
Submitting the form does not create a booking, an appointment, or a contract. The request-sent page only means the mail function reported that it handed the message to the host mail system. It does not mean the message was opened, accepted as training, or scheduled. Guidance starts only after the scope is discussed and you agree to it. You remain the person who changes files on your Mac.
Individual service agreement
If training or a consultation goes ahead, the scope, timing, any follow-up, and any fee are set in that separate conversation or written agreement. These website terms do not list prices, deposits, refunds, or cancellation conditions, because those terms are not published here. If a fee is proposed later, you are free to decline before guidance begins.
Customer responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Deciding whether you have authority over the files you organize
- Making any deletion yourself; MacStartup does not delete files on your device
- Keeping passwords, Apple ID details, and payment information out of the form
- Telling MacStartup if a suggested approach would interrupt work you still need
- Checking a suggestion against your own files before you move or delete anything
Data backup considerations
You should keep a current backup of important files before you reorganize them or remove anything. Time Machine or another backup you already trust is appropriate. Moving the Trash is not a backup. MacStartup does not restore deleted data, and the website cannot restore a Mac.
Service limitations
Published help is limited to guides, file organization training, personalized educational consultations, and follow-up guidance within a scope agreed after a request is reviewed. A form submission is not that agreement. MacStartup does not organize files on your device and does not delete them for you. The teaching does not include computer repair, virus removal, software installation, hardware maintenance, data recovery, Apple ID recovery, or guaranteed acceleration. Learning to organize files does not guarantee a faster Mac.
Third-party software
macOS and related Apple software belong to Apple. CleanMyMac is a separate product associated with MacPaw. MacStartup is not affiliated with either company and does not control their products. Mention of those names is descriptive. Settings inside third-party apps can change without notice. You are responsible for licenses you choose to buy from other companies.
Intellectual property
The website contains original text, design elements, and photographs. You may read and share links to the pages. You may not copy the site design or those photographs for another commercial site without permission. Apple, Mac, macOS, MacPaw, and CleanMyMac are trademarks of their respective owners. They are not the MacStartup logo.
External links
Some pages link to third-party resources, including Google’s policies for the font service the site uses. Those sites have their own terms. A link is not an endorsement of the destination, and MacStartup is not responsible for third-party content.
Website availability
The site is provided as available from the host that serves it. Pages may be updated, withdrawn, or temporarily unreachable. The form depends on PHP and the host mail function. If that function does not accept the message, the form shows an error instead of confirming a request.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MacStartup is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website, from reliance on general articles, or from file moves you approve. Nothing on this page excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability that a given jurisdiction does not allow a website to waive.
Guides are general information. You are responsible for checking a step against your own Mac before you move or delete a file.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated by posting a new version on this page and changing the version date. The version date of this text is October 15, 2026. An individual service agreement, once made, is governed by what you and MacStartup agreed for that work, not only by a later website edit.
